The Master in Digital Fabrication for Architecture of CEU San Pablo
University was created to take advantage of the high creative potential
associated with the combination of the virtual design with CNC (Computer
Numeric Control) which is the fourth generation of the application of
digital technologies to the field of architecture. This includes the
material manufacture of forms designed digitally, using machinery
controlled by computer (laser machines, milling machines, 3D printers,
etc.) able to directly interpret the digital files for cutting or
modeling elements. In our discipline that includes the association of
this technology with the development of parametric design tools, through
which it is possible to digitally generate models whose forms are
defined by parameters which can be modified for each materialization or
singular instance.
The Master includes
courses of Rhino VRay, Grasshopper, 3D Studio Max, AutoCad, SketchUp,
Photoshop, Illustrator, In Design, Adobe Premiere, Flash, Cype and
Revit, as well as tools for collaborative work to complement the
workshops of digital fabrication for the construction of conceptual,
analytical, constructive and structural models as well as the
construction of industrial prototypes using laser cutting machines, 3D
Makerbot, CNC milling machine, 3D printer and 3D scanner.
The Master (60 ECTS)
is developed during one academic year (from September to May). Modules
and courses will be held in the facilities of the Institute of
Technology (EPS) of CEU San Pablo University. Students will have access
to the Digital Fabrication Laboratory, the Laboratory of Computer
Graphics, the Model Shop and the Laboratory of Structural Design.
The
price has been set at 100 Euros/credit ECTS for CEU students and 150
Euros/credit ECTS to external students. More information and
